Havana, 2.dan

[29. november 2015]
Ponovil sem vajo s sprehodom do centra in si tokrat ogledal še Plaza Vieja in Plaza de San Francisco de Asis. Mladenke v tradicionalnih oblačilih so danes hotele 5 CUC (včeraj 1).

Možakar je prišel in me odpeljal s klasičnim avtom. Zakon!

Havana, Day 2

[November 29th, 2015]
Once more I walked to the city centre, this time to see Plaza Vieja and Plaza de San Francisco de Asis. I started to ignore the locals offering things and asking for money. The most annoying thing was charging for photos. Before you could even get the chance to observe the street artists, there was a woman with a bag demanding (not asking!) money. Girls posing in traditional clothes wanted 5 CUC (yesterday 1 CUC). Even children are taught to beg. On the other hand there were also some nice cases e.g. two men posing and only afterwards asking for money (too bad I had no change), friendly taxi drivers etc. For the first time (in Cuba) I have used trade in goods - I paid a pen in exchange for a photo. Anyway, it was a pretty hot day so I wasn't walking around much.

In the afternoon I met the Slovenian who lives in Havana. He picked me up with his classic car. Nice! He helped me arrange the transfer for tomorrow and gave me a contact of another Slovenian in Viñales. Then he exchanged me some convertible pesos to Cuban pesos (moneda nacional), instructed me how to stop a taxi-colectivo (taxi-like transport used mostly by the locals) and literally left me by the dark road. OK, if he thinks it's safe, I probably don't have to worry. Few minutes later I was already in a car with two other passengers. Perhaps the driver noticed I'm a foreigner: he drove me directly to casa's doors - still for only a quarter the price of a regular (tourist) taxi. Great! The casa owner arranged me accommodation for the next few days. Before sleep I had to do some sewing to patch two holes in my pants. Let's hope it's going to last at least a few days.
